Volume Gallery is pleased to announce its group exhibition, Pre 3D, with Johnston Marklee, Pezo Von Ellrichshausen, Norman Kelley, and Ania Jaworska, opening Saturday, January 6th from 5-8 PM at 1709 W Chicago Ave, Chicago IL, 60622.
An architect’s methodology of creating is as unique to them as the language of the built environment they construct. Moving past, into, and out of, an idea often involves an extraneous output. Through painting, collage, or drawing, consciously or unconsciously, new horizons are explored. These insights are then incorporated into the rigor of a more specific project destined for the technical side of an architect’s output.
These pursuits are not simply extracurricular – instead, they are traveling companions down the road an idea may take them. By removing the blinders an architect’s built environment may implement, the unrestrained peripheral views garner valuable information, which in turn can permeate in ways both discoverable and undiscoverable.
